Adult and Baby Red-Headed Woodpecker
in the Rose Garden
This is an adult and baby red-headed woodpecker - Big Lady took the picture. She says the adult is sitting on the suet square and the baby is sitting on the trellis waiting to be fed

She says she saw the adult breaking off pieces of suet and feeding them to the little one. I've seen the woodpeckers hanging around a couple of times but I don't get the chance to chase them as they hang out in the Rose Garden so much.

Irises by the Deck


You have to admit she grows a good Iris. These are a nice color. That's me in the background, by the way. You may have recognized the handsome black fur making a nice setting for the purple flowers
